It is no easy task to describe the Engadine in a few words, for its diversity and its beautiful landscape let everyone find what they are seeking. Many have expressed their feelings of happiness in poetry and art.
"People of the Engadine, I wish to paint your mountains, so that the whole world will speak of their beauty," said the Italian artist, Giovanni Segantini, who came here and made the valley his home. His "Alpine Triptych" and others of his breathtaking works can be admired in the Segantini Museum in St Moritz.

"That great glow of calm"- autumn days in the Engadine are out of this world. The tranquil mountain village of Zuoz lies amidst a palette of shades of gold.

A symphony of white and blue on the wintry Inn at Zuoz. The distinctive background of the Piz Esan standing in the Swiss National Park adds its characteristic shape to one of the most beautiful scenes in Switzerland.

Whilst summit snowfields melt away in the sun, spring in the mountains transforms the Engadine, as if by magic, into a gigantic sea of June flowers.

Piz Bernina, Piz Scerscen and Piz Roseg are the melodious names of the highest mountain giants of the eastern Alps. It is not difficult to fall in love with them!
